Privacy Policy
01 Who runs this
Game Tracker (gametracker.wiki) is an independently run, non-commercial hobby project. It's operated by a single person on their own server infrastructure — there's no company, no team, and no third-party analytics or advertising providers involved.
02 No accounts, no personal data collection
You cannot register, log in, or create any kind of profile on Game Tracker. There are no forms to fill in, no email addresses collected, no cookies set, and no user preferences saved anywhere. Every visitor sees the exact same public data, and nothing you do on the site is tied to an identity.
03 Server logs
Like virtually every website on the internet, the web server that runs Game Tracker automatically records basic technical information for each request it receives, purely for operational and security purposes (e.g. debugging, spotting abuse, keeping the service stable). This can include:
- IP address of the visitor
- Requested URL (e.g. which game page or API endpoint was accessed)
- Timestamp of the request
- Browser/user-agent string
- Referring page, if any
These logs are not linked to any account (since none exist), are not sold, shared, or used for advertising, and are not analyzed individually. They exist only as a byproduct of running a web server and are used, if ever, only to investigate technical problems or abuse (e.g. bot spam, attempted attacks).
04 No cookies, no analytics, no trackers
Game Tracker does not use cookies, does not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar tracking script, and does not run any advertising. There is nothing on this site trying to identify you, follow you between visits, or build a profile of your behavior.
05 Where the game data comes from
All player-count and pricing data shown on Game Tracker comes from Steam's public API. This is public, aggregate data about games — it has nothing to do with individual Steam users or accounts, and browsing it on Game Tracker doesn't interact with your own Steam account in any way.
06 Third parties
The site loads two external resources needed for it to work and look right:
- Google Fonts — for the typefaces used on the page.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare's CDN) — to load the charting library used to draw the graphs.
Loading these may cause your browser to make a request to Google's or Cloudflare's servers, which could log your IP address on their end, under their own respective privacy policies. Game Tracker itself does not share any data with them beyond what your browser does automatically when fetching a file.
07 Children's privacy
Game Tracker doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children, since there's no account system or data collection to begin with.
08 Changes to this policy
If anything about how the site works ever changes (for example, if analytics were ever added), this page would be updated to reflect that, along with the "last updated" date at the top.
